Message & Reminder for Saturday, March 22, 2025
Dear Orchestra Members and Parents,
This Saturday, there will be an important parents meeting regarding upcoming orchestra events and activities. Every orchestra member should have a parent attending this meeting. The meeting will begin at 4PM in our downstairs space due to a Tzu Chi meeting in the main hall that is scheduled to end at 4PM, and guests at that meeting will need to exit the building via the vestibule/foyer.
Check-in will begin at 3:30PM, and orchestra members will gather quietly in our downstairs space until the main hall is available for our humanities class.
Tzu Chi shoe bags will be used by ALL TCYOLI members, parents, staff, and conductors on Saturday.
Shortly before team rehearsals are to begin at 4:30PM, the parents meeting will move upstairs to the vestibule/foyer.
Here is our schedule for this Saturday:
4PM Parents meeting in the downstairs space
4PM to 4:30PM Humanities Class when the main hall is available
4:30PM Parents meeting continues in the vestibule/foyer
4:30PM to 6PM Team rehearsals
6:05PM to 6:45PM Chamber Orchestra rehearsal; White Team second violins sectional
6:45PM Restoration of venues, snack, and dismissal
This Saturday, while the Chamber Orchestra is rehearsing with Conductor Scott, the White Team second violinists will be working with Conductor Adam in the book den. (White Team cellists, please quietly observe the chamber orchestra rehearsal or the White Team second violins sectional. On March 29th, after Conductor Jocelyn has performed in Chicago, she will work with the White Team second violinists.)
NO ONE WILL BE DISMISSED EARLY on Saturday!
In preparation for this week's rehearsals:
Blue Team members, please be prepared to closely follow the plan that Conductor Scott shared with us on Thursday.
White Team members, please diligently complete the homework that Conductor Adam assigned last Saturday, March 15th.
Woodwinds Team members, a new piece, Indian Summer, has been uploaded to the TCYOLI blogspot. Conductor Debbie requests that you download, print out, and practice the new music on your own before coming to this week's rehearsal. (Each part of the new piece has already been labeled with the name(s) of the member(s) assigned to play it.)
Chamber Orchestra members, please be prepared to closely follow the plan that Conductor Scott shared with us on Tuesday.
We are looking forward to a very informative day for our parents and a very educational day for our members this Saturday!
Sincerely,
TCYOLI Staff
